Police Blotter: Possession of CDS

Possession of CDS—

The following incidents are separate and unrelated, and reports for each case have been supplied by .

At 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, officers reportedly conducted a motor vehicle stop at Route 130 North and Harrison Avenue.

According to police reports, the driver of a red Chevrolet had been stopped for speeding, who was identified as 24-year-old Jennifer Williams, of Lindenwold.

After conducting a computer check on the car's passenger—who police identified as 31-year-old Pennsauken resident Cohens B. McLelore, police found two active warrants for McLelore's arrest, both issued from Camden City.

Police said the two warrants held $1,000 full cash bail combined.

As McLelore exited the vehicle, police said they observed a clear jar on the floor containing vegetation purported to be marijuana.

Police said McLelore was handcuffed to be taken into custody, at which time officers reportedly observed several additional jars in the vehicle containing vegetation purported to be marijuana.

According to reports, McLelore was issued a summons for Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and was charged with Possession of 50 Grams Or Less of Marijuana, with bail set at $1,000 full cash.

Police said the car's driver, Williams, was issued a summons for Speeding and was released.

McLelore was unable to post the required bail and was transported to county jail pending a Collingswood Municipal Court hearing on Wednesday, August 27 at 9:30 a.m.

 

Possession of CDS—

On Wednesday, July 27, at 12:53 a.m., officers patrolling the area of Route 130 South conducted a motor vehicle stop of a Dodge Intrepid.

According to police, the vehicle was stopped for failing to mainting his lane of travel. Police said the car had been drifting from the left to center lane on multiple occasions.

The car's driver was identified as Naim A. Waters, said police, a 23-year-old Lindenwold resident.

Upon approaching the vehicle, police said Waters stated his driver's license was suspended, but he said he could provide valid vehicle insurance and proof of registration.

After conducting a computer check, police said they were able to to confirm Waters' New Jersey driving privileges were suspended.

While speaking to Waters, police said they detected a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle's interior compartment.

According to police, Waters voluntarily surrendered to officers a clear plastic sandwich bag which contained vegetation purported to be marijuana.

Police said Waters was placed under arrest, his vehicle was impounded, and he was taken to police headquarters for processing.

Waters was reportedly issued motor vehicle summonses for Failure to Keep Right, Driving With a Suspended License, and Being an Unlicensed Driver.

Police said Waters was charged with Possession of 50 Grams or Less of Marijuana, and was released pending a Collingswood Municipal Court hearing on Wednesday, August 10 at 9:30 a.m.
