Police Blotter: Burglary, Possession, Outstanding Warrants

Police are tracking a pair of burglaries, including one in which an elderly resident was confronted in his bedroom. Also, a repeat offender finds another charge added to his record.

Driving While Intoxicated and on a Suspended License
On April 3, Collingswood police located William James Laferriere, 31, of Collingswood, whom they had arrested Jan. 29 on a motor vehicle violation. Police had determined after the fact that Laferriere had been operating his vehicle while his license had been suspended for driving while intoxicated.

when police pulled him over on a bicycle and discovered that he was in possession of heat-sealed bags of what they believed to be cocaine.

Burglary
At 8:30 p.m. April 10, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of the White Horse Pike, to investigate a burglary. The suspect had allegedly forced open the front door and confronted the victim, an elderly man, in the bedroom of the home. Detectives believe the victim knew his robber and had regularly employed him to do odd jobs around the house. The burglar allegedly removed $50 as well as a loaded handgun from the victim’s residence.

Disorderly Persons
At 1 a.m. April 7, officers confronted two people at the Princess Anne apartments arguing loudly outdoors. Upon trying to quiet them, officers arrested Angel Polanco, 40, of Port St. Lucie, FL, who allegedly tried to escalate the situation. Polanco was charged with a disorderly persons summons and was released.

Possession of Marijuana
At 7 p.m. April 7, police responded to a call from a Cedar Avenue resident complaining that an ex-boyfriend was knocking on the door of her home; she refused to answer the door. At the residence, the sergeant on duty made contact with the subject in question: Robert Folino, 47, of the 6400 block of Lebanon Avenue in Philadelphia. Folino was observed smoking a hand-rolled cigarette that appeared to be marijuana. He was charged with possession of marijuana and then released on his own recognizance.

Outstanding Warrants, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle
At 8:30 p.m. April 4, officers arrested Collingswood resident Neftali Delgado on outstanding warrants totaling $47,000 from the Collingswood municipal court. Delgado was also found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle, a crime for which he was also charged. He was sent to the Camden County correctional facility.

Burglary
On April 2, police received a report of a break-in on the 200 block of Crestmont Terrace. Persons unknown cut the padlock off a garage on the property, but nothing had been removed nor appeared damaged. Police believed it is possible that the perpetrator(s) had been looking for something specific but didn’t find it.
