Theft
At 11 a.m. June 5, an officer on patrol observed two juveniles entering a rear yard in the unit block of Bellevue Terrace on foot and leaving with bicycles that did not appear to be theirs.

Officers stopped one of the juveniles for questioning; the other took off on a long chase and was eventually brought down on foot. Both were taken into custody, and charged with theft. They were released to their parents.

Shoplifting
At 8 p.m. on June 5, a female shopper at the Aldi supermarket allegedly helped herself to a bag of potato chips and a soda, and then left without paying for them.

Marcia Barber, 53, of Camden was apprehended by police outside the store; she was charged with shoplifting. Police also discovered that Barber was wanted on a $300 in outstanding warrants from the Lindenwold municipal court. She was remanded to the Camden County correctional facility.

Possession of CDS
At 11:30 a.m. June 6, officers received a report of a female sleeping inside a tan-colored SUV on Powell Lane

At the scene, they encountered Erin McCartney, 26, of Cinnaminson, sleeping in the vehicle. A search incidental to the investigation revealed that she was in possession of four baggies that officers believed to contain cocaine and five of what they believed contained heroin.

McCartney was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS).

Theft
At 3:07 p.m. June 7, police received a complaint from a juvenile caller in the 100 block of Fern Avenue who observed a male entering her property and stealing her bicycle.

The caller was able to remain on the phone with the 911 dispatcher and provide a description of the offender. The information led to the arrest of Thomas Helvig, 31, of Collingswood, a few blocks away. Helvig was charged with theft.

Unlawful possession of a firearm
At 4:19 a.m. on June 9, an officer on patrol in the area of Haddon Avenue and West Wayne Terrace observed an occupied vehicle that was parked, running, with no headlights on.

When the operator, Rasheka Ramos, 25, of Woodlynne, was awakened, the officer observed a small-caliber, stainless steel handgun in the center console of the vehicle. She was unable to display any permits related to the weapon, which has not been reported as stolen.

Ramos was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. The handgun was confiscated and officers are running a trace to determine its rightful owner.
