Oaklyn Man Arrested for Providing Alcohol to Minors

Talbert T. Monroe, 59, was picked up after a tip from a neighbor, police said.

A 59-year-old Oaklyn man was arrested Wednesday for providing alcohol to minors, according to a press release issued by Oaklyn police chief Joseph T. Abbate.

Talbert T. Monroe of the 100 block of the White Horse Pike in Oaklyn was taken into custody by patrolmen investigating a neighbor's tip. A search of his home revealed two juveniles, 14 and 15 years old, who were remanded to their parents' custody. The youths also will face charges for the underage consumption of alcohol.

Monroe, whose rap sheet includes various drug-related arrests—including possession of paraphernalia, loitering with the intent to sell drugs and hindering prosecution—was remanded to the Camden County correctional facility on charges unrelated to Wednesday's incident, according to the press release. He is scheduled to appear before the Oaklyn Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Sept. 12.
