Hindering Apprehension Results in Wanted Persons Arrest

The following incident report has been supplied by 

 

Officers observed two suspicious vehicles parked in the rear lot of the Collingswood Diner at 11:38 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, according to police reports.

One of the individuals in the vehicles, said police, verbally identified himself as Anthony Tartagia.

Through investigations, police reportedly found the individual's true identity to be 35-year-old Michael F. Widmeier of Cherry Hill Township.

Widmeier, said police, was found to have several active warrants issued for his arrest.

Included in the full-cash bail warrants was a $575 warrant issued from Camden City; a $525 warrant issued from Deptford Township; and a $20,000 warrant issued from the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department.

Police reports did not indicate why Widmeier was wanted by the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department.

According to police, Widmeier was taken into custody and charged with Hindering Apprehension.

After being served with copies of his summonses, for which Widmeier will appear in Collingswood Municipal Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, Widmeier was remanded to county jail.
