Haddon Twp., Oaklyn Cops Hunt Door-Kicker Burglar

The detective bureaus of two neighboring boroughs believe their man is behind multiple smash-and-grab burglaries in the area.

Police in the nearby boroughs of Oaklyn and Haddon Township are searching for a man who could be responsible for several commercial burglaries in the area.

On three separate occasions since February, the suspect is believed to have smashed the door glass of the Shell gas station in the 500 block of the White Horse Pike in order to gain entry and steal cartons of cigarettes.

The thief has apparently injured himself in the process each time, and blood found at the scene has been sent for forensic analysis.

Police believe the same individual may also have masterminded the July 24 attempted burglary of the Metro PCS store in the 600 block of the White Horse Pike.

In that incident, a male "mule kicked" the front door glass, but “became spooked and abruptly ran back to the van,” according to the Haddon Township Police Facebook page.

The same store was also burglarized in the same fashion between July 19 and July 20, police said, a crime in which “numerous cellular telephones were taken.”
