Haddon Ave. Car Accident Sends Driver to Hospital

Collingswood police say the 27-year-old woman may have had a seizure behind the wheel.

Collingswood police said that a 27-year-old woman may have had a seizure behind the wheel Wednesday afternoon when her car drove into a parked vehicle on Haddon Avenue.

She was transported to Lourdes Hospital after the accident. Police said her condition was unknown.

According to police, the driver was traveling on Frazier Avenue, approaching the intersection of Haddon near the Collingswood Public Library.

Instead of turning, she reportedly continued straight through the stop sign and into the car of a Fishtown couple parked outside McGarry's Jewelers. 

Dan and Judy Roth of Philadelphia were visiting a friend in Collingswood. When they emerged from the Collingswood Cloud Masonic Lodge around 2:45 p.m., they found their car had been struck.

The impact caused visible damage to both vehicles, and bent severely a parking post.
