Collingswood Police Foil Alleged Vehicle Burglary

A 22-year-old Camden man and his alleged juvenile accomplice were apprehended in the indicent.

Collingswood police got to the scene of an alleged car burglary quickly enough to locate a missing car stereo and apprehend a pair of men found in the area.

Around 3:30 a.m. on April 15, officers responded to Richey Avenue on complaint of a vehicle burglary and stolen Kenwood stereo from a 1993 blue Mercury tracer.

Officers established a perimeter of the area and located the suspected offenders as well as the stereo, which had been dropped when the two fled the scene.

Carl Edmonds, 22, of Camden City, was charged with third-degree burglary and theft from a motor vehicle. Edwards was also wanted on active warrants, and was remanded to the Camden County correctional facility on $15,000 full-cash bail.

A juvenile male, also from Camden City, was charged with third-degree burglary in the incident, and was released to his parents.
