Collingswood Gulf Station Robbed at Gunpoint Sunday

Police are asking people to be on the lookout for a light green, older model, two-door vehicle with a partial New Jersey tag of 66CDK.

Police are on the lookout today for a pair of men wanted in an early morning, armed robbery of the Gulf gas station in Collingswood.

At 3:22 a.m. Sunday, a car pulled up to the station on Route 130 South and purchased $5 of gas.

After the attendant pumped the gas and gave the driver his change, police say a passenger in the front seat of the vehicle hopped out and brandished what they believe was a semi-automatic handgun.

The man reportedly demanded all the money the attendant was carrying on his person, and then ransacked the cashier’s station, removing an undisclosed amount of money from the drawer. The pair then drove away.

Attendants at the scene provided a description of a light green, older model, two-door vehicle, with a partial New Jersey license plate: 66CDK.

Collingswood detectives ask that anyone who may recognizes the description of this vehicle or who sees this license plate, call them at 856-854-2401 x102.

Just two months ago, an attendant working at this same gas station was stabbed during a robbery for which police charged 34-year-old Zedrick T. Johnson of Willingboro.

Gas station robberies in South Jersey have become increasingly common. In Collingswood, the November 2012 shooting of an attendant at the Route 130 Sunoco station remains unsolved, and the same suspects involved may have struck again afterwards in Camden City.
