Another Hit-and-Run in Cherry Hill? Police Seek Info

Evesham police pulled over an elderly Cherry Hill man Tuesday who recalled hitting something—or someone—with his car, just not what, where, or when.

An 81-year-old Cherry Hill resident driving around Camden and Burlington counties hit something—or more likely, someone—Tuesday night, but Evesham police, who pulled him over on East Main Street, don’t know who, what or where.

Police said heavy damage to the front passenger’s side of the senior’s blue 1997 Ford Taurus was consistent with that of a vehicle that has struck a pedestrian, including traces of blood and hair.

Although the driver said he remembered hitting something earlier in the evening, he couldn’t say what and didn’t know where it would’ve happened. Evesham officers searched the surrounding area but couldn’t find anything resembling a crash scene.

Police said the crash could’ve happened anywhere within a one-hour radius of the Cherry Hill Mall between 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday.

They are asking for help from anyone who saw a blue Ford Taurus on the ride of the road, or who might have seen a crash involving a Taurus, or who has information on missing people who could have been involved in a pedestrian crash.
