Lourdes Celebrates National Radiologic Technology Week

– Staff at Lourdes Health System recently celebrated National Radiologic Technology Week, which has greater meaning this year with the recent addition of its new outpatient facility: LourdesCare at Cherry Hill, located at Brace Road and Route 70. The annual celebration commemorates the anniversary of the discovery of X-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on Nov. 8, 1895. The week recognizes the vital work of radiologic technologists across the nation.

“Since opening LourdesCare in Cherry Hill last March, our dedicated caregivers have provided services to more than 7,000 patients,” says Joanne Rossi, chief technologist with the Radiology department at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and LourdesCare. “We’re proud that our imaging technologists play an important role in patient care and well-being.”

The Lourdes 2013 Radiologic Technology Week theme is “R.T.’s:  Positioning Ourselves for Excellence.”

“Our Radiology team at Lourdes continues to grow, with four campuses to meet the imaging needs of South Jersey residents,” adds Rossi. “We offer a comprehensive range of radiology services at our campuses, including open bore MRI, CT scan, digital mammography, ultrasound, DEXA scan and diagnostic radiology.”

The four Lourdes campuses include Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, LourdesCare at Cherry Hill, Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County and Lourdes Care at Van Sciver in Willingboro.
