The holidays are here, and these weekend events will help ease you through the Thankgiving-to-Christmas transition.

Friday, November 25—

At 8 p.m. this Friday, stop fighting your 'Christmas already?' blues and join friends and neighbors at festive annual tree lighting ceremony. Santa will be performing feats of strength, climbing down the roof of on ’s ladder truck to visit with children. After the tree is set aglow, join in singing some traditional holiday carols—or just bask in the glow of the holiday season. All is welcome, and admission is free. There are only a few weeks until all cultures begin their gift-giving traditions, so get started early. At 8 p.m. this Friday, shake the darkness off of Black Friday with glowing candlelight, live music, in-store events, late-night shopping, major bargains, and more. Participating shops in downtown Haddonfield will stay open late, so you can secure those perfect gifts you can’t find at any chain store. At 10 a.m. this Saturday, have a rousing good time at the annual . This year's fan-favorite borough tradition will feature mummers, floats, antique cars, community groups, live music, sports mascots and local officials. Help Collingswood ring in the holiday season, to the tune of classic holiday music. The parade route will begin at Zane Ave., continuing down Haddon Ave. in downtown Collingswood. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, explore the world of miniature rails. Visit this special train show and view toy train displays and miniature models, while enjoying free cookies and hot chocolate. A variety of Christmas crafts will be for sale. Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus, United Methodist Church, 36 E. Broad St., Burlington

At 3:30 p.m. this Sunday, the New York Sun's beloved and timeless 1897 editorial comes to life. Written by Pat Cook and presented by the Bridge Players Theater Company, this charming play tells the true story of 8-year-old Virginia and her letter to the New York Sun, where reporter Frank P. Church had the delicate task of answering her question—a response which became deeply entwined in Christmas tradition. Tickets are $8 per person.
