UPDATE: Lost Dogs 'Fang' and 'Jade'

Heather Woodward of nearby Barrington says her retrievers ran away from home Sept. 18, and despite flyering shelters and vets in three counties, she has no leads.

A reader from Haddonfield-Haddon Township Patch notified us Sunday night about a pair of missing dogs from nearby Barrington.

Both are Labrador Retrievers. The yellow male is Fang, 7; 80 pounds and neutered. The black lab answers to Jade; she is seven years old, 80 pounds and spayed. Fang has a microchip, and Jade does not. They are normally treated at the West Deptford Animal Hospital.

Owner Heather Woodward said that since the dogs went missing September 18, she's put fliers up in shelters from Salem County to Burlington County.

"They're not in any shelters," she told Collingswood Patch. "They all know about the dogs," she said. "A bunch of vets know."

Woodward said her family lives on a cul-de-sac, and the dogs have gotten out of the yard "plenty of times," but have always come back. She even remarked that "Fang" should have been named "Houdini," as he's opened latches with his nose and jumped a six-foot stockade fence.

"That night, the smoke detector went off in the house, and it spooked them, and I think that that made them a little further," she said.

Woodward, who owns Woody's Landscaping Service in Barrington, said she is distraught at their loss, and that "the only thing that gets me through the day is thinking that somebody has them.

"They're not dead on the side of the road; the police would have told me," Woodward said. "Somebody has them.

"We'll take any help we can get," she said.
