Collingswood Edges Buena in Football Consolation Game
The Panthers won with a 57-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter, 32-28.
A 57-yard touchdown pass from Steve Copeland to Pat Miles in the fourth quarter put the Collingswood High School football team over the top in a back-and-forth battle with Buena Friday night.
The touchdown helped the Panthers come from behind for a 32-28 win over Buena Friday night, according to nj.com.
The teams were competing in a consolation game after both teams missed the playoffs despite posting winning records. With Friday night’s win, Collingswood improved to 7-2. Buena fell to .500 at 5-5.

The Panthers scored the first two touchdowns of the game. Jordan Wallace connected with Copeland on a 25-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. John Deaner then scored on a 19-yard run in the second quarter.
The Chiefs scored the next two to tie the game at 14-14 in the third quarter.

Anthony Rivera scored on a pair of 5-yard touchdown runs for Collingswood, but Buena was able to keep pace.
An Eric Rainear touchdown run gave Buena the two-point lead before the heroics from Copeland and Miles.
Collingswood wraps its season up at Sterling on Nov. 27, 7 p.m.
