It all starts out harmlessly enough: two best friends set out to pursue their dreams. But their hopes are dashed when they become ensnared in a love-triangle, worsened by the comical interference of their gossipy, peevish companions - and the dog that can't help getting into trouble. Come see them at the Collingswood Shakespeare Company's production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona April 12-13 and 19-21 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Collingswood.
The two lead characters, Proteus and Valentine (played by Eric Chambers and Kris Varga, respectively), remain loyal to their friendship until one of them, determined to have Silvia (Marissa Kennedy) for himself, pursues a treacherous plan to destroy his competition. In addition to the love-triangle, a former girlfriend, Julia (Iraisa Ann Reilly), joins the fray by disguising herself as a servant and following at the heels of her true love.
Performances will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 839 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108 (at the corner of Fern and Haddon Aves.) Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors and may be purchased at the door. Evening show times are 8 PM; Sunday matinee on April 21 at 3 PM.
