Digital Photography for Beginners (part 3) Off Center is On Target

Most people like to place their subject dead-center in a photo. But that can be dead wrong!

In this class, Den DiMarco will teach you the correct location for your subject as well as the correct placement for strong horizontal lines such as a horizon or where the sand meets the ocean in a beach scene. Additionally,  you’ll learn where to place the most important part of your subject (usually your subject’s  eyes or a small, bright patch of color).

For most cameras, you can select a setting that displays lines on your view screen to help you position your subject perfectly. You’ll learn how to select that setting to help you in your photographic composition. The result is that your photos will look more interesting, more energetic and nearly artistic.

This class features a lively presentation with PLENTY of picture-taking to try out you’re your new knowledge.

To help you perform some of the activities in class, the instructor (Den DiMarco) will gladly prepare a “cheat sheet” for your specific camera. Students who have used these cheat sheets in past classes found them very useful and easy to follow. They (and we) highly recommend you take advantage of this free handout.

To give the instructor enough time to prepare your cheat sheet, please send us your camera information at least two days before the start of the class.

NOTE: Bring your digital camera (and instruction manual, if available). This class is not designed for iPhone (or cell phone) cameras.
