Summer Library Programs: Something for Everyone

This summer, kids—and parents—looking for activities to beat back the summer doldrums can find a variety of activities to explore at the Collingswood Public Library. 

All activities are free, but registration is required. Programs run about an hour and are hosted in the Peter P. Childs Meeting Room.

Call Carol or Dot at 856-858-0649 during weekday business hours in June to sign up. Tiny Tots registration starts Friday, July 5.

Mr. Malcolm Presents Journey to the Center of the Earth
Friday, June 21 at 4 p.m.

Enjoy Mr. Malcolm’s unique, humorous, interactive interpretation! No registration required.

Reading Boards for children 3 years through students entering 5th grade
June 21 through August 30

Receive prizes for checking out books or completing tasks. Boards will be distributed at school and will also be available at the Library beginning June 21.

Little Digs Story Time (18‐35 months)
Fri., July 12, 19, 26, Aug. 2 – 10 a.m.

This program is limited to 14 children and includes stories, finger plays, songs, and playtime. Registration for this program will not be taken until July 5.

Sprouts ‐ 3, 4 & 5-Year-Old Story Time
Thurs., July 11, 18, 25 Aug. 1, 8 – 10 a.m.

Includes stories, songs, snack, play period and a craft package to complete at home.

Burrowers ‐ Stories & Crafts for Children Entering K, 1st, and 2nd Grades
Wed., July 10, 17, 24, 31 – 4 p.m.

Explore all things underground with stories and crafts!

Questers ‐ For Children Entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades
Thurs., July 11 – 4 p.m.: Dig Into the Past – Ancient Egypt
Thurs., July 18 – 4 p.m.: Just Dig It ‐ In the Garden

Groundbreaking Reads – For Teens and Adults
June 21 through August 30
When you return your books, enter raffle tickets for what you have read. Once every ten days, a winner will be randomly chosen winning a free book, tote, and Collingswood Cash. No registration required.

Sciencetellers Family Program: The Bugs of Blackwood
Thurs., Aug. 8 – 4 p.m.
Using science experiments to tell a story, this interactive program is fun (and educational) for all. No registration required.
