May Fair is Coming: Five Things for This Week

1. PFLAG Collingswood Monthly Meeting

Monday, May 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m.—Collingswood Public Library

Mark "Chumley" Singer brings his story to the May 2013 meeting of the Collingswood chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians And Gays (PFLAG). A 25-year activist who coordinated AIDS Walks in New York and Philadelphia during the early days of the disease, Chumley is now the Events & Marketing Manager of the Philadelphia Eagles Youth Partnership, the team’s non-profit supporting kids' health and education.

2. GMO-Free NJ Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m.—Collingswood Public Library

A gathering of citizens interested in initiating action in the community with a goal of restoring our food choice freedom. Together we study the impact of the genetically modified organisms (GMOs) that are in our food supply, learn how to avoid them, and explore ways to increase awareness about this serious global crisis.

3. Summer Mummers Concert Series

Wednesday, May 22, 7-8:30 p.m.—Powell Lane Plaza at The LumberYard

4. Frugal Fourth Friday Ladies Night

Friday, May 24, 6:30-9:30 p.m.—Frugal Resale

5. 34th Annual May Fair

Saturday, May 25, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—Haddon Avenue

"200+ artists and crafters will display and sell their unique creations in a juried show. Children will have their day of fun in the 'KidZone', featuring pony rides, carnival games, rides and children-friendly crafters.

"Three stages of live music will feature blues, rock, folk and more. An antique & classic auto show and Harley-Davidson motorcycle display add to the festival’s appeal. Visitors will also find several Food Courts complimenting the downtown restaurants & cafés. There will be everything from pulled pork to funnel cake!

"May Fair also welcomes the return of the renowned Collingswood Farmers Market offering “Jersey Fresh” produce and florals sold in a delightful open air atmosphere."
