Haddon Township Library Reopens

The library branch had been shuttered since May for repairs.

The borrowing has begun again at Haddon Township’s library.

The neighboring town’s library reopened Monday for the first time since May. The building had been closed after a burst waterline pipe caused extensive damage to 32,500 square feet of walls, ceilings and floors, as well as furniture and equipment.

After professionals completed the repairs, two-dozen volunteers aided library staff members in restacking more than 3,000 displaced during the work.

Officials, volunteers and community members reopened the library Monday with cake, flowers and balloons.

“I’d like to thank all the volunteers who helped out last week and our customers who welcomed us so warmly,” branch manager Nan Rosenthal said. “It’s great to be back serving our customers again. Come on in.”
