Fundraisers, Second Saturday: 5 Things for This Week
Plus: the last commissioners meeting before the 2013 elections, a community concert and church yard sale.
1. Borough Commissioners Meeting
Monday, May 6 at 7 p.m.—Collingswood Community Center
The last monthly meeting of the local borough government before the May 14 elections. Those in attendance can likely expect some discussion on the introduction of the borough budget, which Mayor James Maley announced last week would likely be delayed because of a shift in employee healthcare plans. Bring your questions and your neighbors.
2. First Tuesday Fundraiser for the Holiday Parade
Tuesday, May 7, 4 to 10 p.m.—Tortilla Press and Tortilla Press Cantina

Dine out at either of Mark Smith's Tortilla Press locations on the first Tuesday of every month and 15 percent of your bill will go to benefit the Collingswood Holiday Parade.
3. "This is My Song" - Collingswood Community Chorus Concert

"Selections explore various types of human relationships from the light-hearted and personal in "Hey, Good Lookin'" to the more serious and universal "Heaven Help Us All". Styles range from Gershwin's wistfully sweet "Someone to Watch Over Me" to Broadway's "All that Jazz", from country to the pop music of several decades.

4. Comedy Cabaret to benefit CHS Marching Band
Friday, May 10 at 8:15 p.m.—Comedy Cabaret at Carollo’s Restaurant

5. Second Saturday in Collingswood
Saturday, May 11, 5 to 10 p.m.
There's always lots to do in the borough downtown on Second Saturday, including gallery openings, live music and wine-and-snack tastings in many local shops.
Looking for something special? For $12, you can take in a faculty performance of Dark Side of the Moon at the Perkins Center for the Arts. Then there's the free trunk show for Collingswood fashionista Betsy Cook's National Picnic clothing brand. And that's just for starters.
