Brace Road Slated to Be Repaved This Summer

Overnight work will knock the road down to one lane at times late this summer.

A 1.5-mile section of Brace Road will be repaved this summer as part of a $9.2 million, three-county road repair project that runs through this fall, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced.

Nearly the entire stretch of the road, from Haddonfield-Berlin Road up to the Kings Highway intersection, will be milled and repaved, and new ADA-compliant curb ramps will be installed along the length of the road, officials said.

Work could start in late July on the curbs, NJDOT officials said, with paving work likely to follow near the end of August, although a firm schedule hasn’t been set at this point.

“We will notify the township at least a week before we start there and also keep them posted on things during construction
,” NJDOT spokesman Tim Greeley said in an email.

Paving work on Brace is scheduled for overnight hours once it begins, and will reduce the road to one lane at times, according to the NJDOT schedule, mostly between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
