5 Things You Need to Know This Week

It's a short week for Collingswood students and a toy drive to help needy children is in full swing.

1. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. While Collingswood won’t vote for municipal government, there are plenty of county and state elections on the ballot. Plus, there is a on whether to legalize sports betting in New Jersey. Not sure where to vote? Use New Jersey’s polling place search.

2. Collingswood schools are closed Tuesday, Nov. 8 for teacher training. Schools are also closed Nov. 10-11 for New Jersey Education Association convention.

3. The Collingswood High School Marching Band Boosters will hold its on Saturday, Nov. 12 in the high school cafeteria. The event runs 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and benefits the marching band.

4. Help a needy child have a brighter holiday season by donating a toy to the ’s toy drive. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the fire department, 20 W. Collings Ave., from now until Dec. 15.
