For the second straight Saturday, I'm clearing off my calender for what is promising to be a cataclysmic event. I'm referring, of course, to May Fair, Collingswood's annual Spring festival of fun, music, food and art. This will be my first May Fair, but certainly not my last, seeing as the event is already in its 32nd year of existence.
The Fair runs all day from 10-5 on Hadden Avenue and is expecting quite a draw: last year, 50,000 people were in attendance. Naturally, what I'm most excited about is the food. In addition to Haddon Avenue's storied restaurants and cafes, there will be several food courts set up offering everything from pulled pork to funnel cake. The May Fair also marks the return of the renowned Collingswood Farmers Market.
I'll be at the May Fair bright and early to get in while the gettin's good. I won't leave you hanging; I'll have a full report upon my return to let you know what was good, what wasn't, and who impressed the most. So until next week, keep on eating!
