Whole Foods Recalls Mislabeled Soup for Allergen Risk

Whole Foods Market is recalling a batch of its Market Kitchens-brand soup because of a mislabeling incident that could pose a risk to customers with allergies.

Twenty-four-ounce cans of the Market Kitchens Lobster Bisque soup was accidentally mislabeled as Roasted Garlic and Eggplant Soup, which "poses the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if consumed by customers with a shellfish or milk allergy," according to an announcement from the company.

The soup was sold in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2; its sell-by date is Oct. 4, 2012.
