Go Ahead and Have a Coffee, It's On Us—Love, Collingswood Patch

Join us at Grooveground Coffee Shop Friday, Feb. 25 for free coffee, merchandise and live music.

Who doesn’t enjoy a midday perk?

The only thing better than a coffee refuel, though, is a free one.

And from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, Collingswood Patch is making that dream come true—by giving away free 12-ounce coffees at Grooveground coffee shop—located at 647 Haddon Ave. in Collingswood.

But whatever will you do when 8:30 rolls around, and you’ve got the jitters?

We’ve covered that, too. Don’t go anywhere—because at 8:30, Grooveground will feature live music from local-favorite group She Hates Me.

The musical brainchild of vocalist Shannon McGill and guitarist Kevin Sullivan, She Hates Me shows pack more punch than tradition allows. The band—whose shows feature everything from classic hits like "Dream a Little Dream" to your guilty 1980s pop pleasures—have generated a cult-like fan base.

But music isn’t the only thing jitterbugs can jive to during She Hates Me's set on Feb. 25. The duo’s on-stage dynamic is said to rival even that of a stand-up comedy show.

To demonstrate, the band answers a commonly asked question—whether or not she (Shannon) hates me (Kevin)?

“It depends on how many drinks she’s had,” the band’s website says of its leading lady.

It's an event you don't want to miss. So jitter your way from a free cup of coffee onto the dance floor. Chances are, Patch staff like Collingswood's Editor Deena DiBacco, will be dancing, too—she'll be staying all night long, until every last caffeine-fueled question about Patch.com is answered.

As if free coffee and dancing weren’t enough, Patch will be handing out free merchandise from 6:30 to 8:30 as well.

Patch, plus Grooveground, plus She Hates Me.
