South Jersey Restaurants to Celebrate Peaches in August

A total of 13 restaurants will participate in this year's tribute to New Jersey's peaches, Just Peachy.

With over 90 peach orchards spread throughout the state, New Jersey produces almost 66 million peaches for export, making it the fourth largest producer of peaches in the nation. 

This year restaurants will kick off NJ Peach month with a cooking demo and recipes at Collingswood’s Farmers Market, where a peach pie contest will be taking place on the same day. 

Local restaurants will feature tasty peach desserts, like the Peach Bellini Tiramisu at That’s  Amore in Collingswood and the Pop Shop’s peach pancakes.

Other restaurants like blueplate, Braddocks Tavern and The Tortilla Press are featuring full menus spotlighting peaches in every course.

Keg and Kitchen in Westmont will offer both a full menu and a special Jersey Peach martini featuring farmers peach cider, St elder, stoli peach vodka. 

BYO restaurants are also getting into the spirit. 

“We’re also doing peach sangria tasting” said Chef Mark Smith of Tortilla Press, which features Sharrott Winery’s Just Peachy Sangria. “ ... We really lived up to our reputation as the Garden State with this one.”

“I have guests calling me as early as June for this dinner,” Chef Jim Malaby of Mullica Hill’s blueplate said.
