Look for a few showers and thunderstorms today, August 27, out ahead of a warm front to our south and east. The day will not be a wash-out, and I do expect to see some breaks of sun, but you may want to bring along the umbrella to work this morning. It will be a humid day with a high near 85.
The morning of Tuesday, August 28 will see a cold front approaching from the west, bringing showers and thunderstorms with it. By the afternoon, however, the storms will move to the east and the sun will come out. Humidity will drop off after the front passes and temperatures will warm into the upper 80s.
A big bubble of high pressure will take over Wednesday, August 29. Skies will be mostly sunny, but it will be cooler behind the front with a high only in the low 80s.
Thursday, August 30, will be sunny and warmer with a high in the upper 80s as we remain under the influence of high pressure.
High pressure will stay in control for Friday, August 31, and Saturday, September 1, for the start of Labor Day Weekend. As our winds turn more south and southwesterly, a hot and humid weekend can be expected with highs in the low 90s.
A cold front will be approaching from the north on Sunday, September 2. Morning sun will give way to afternoon clouds and eventually showers and thunderstorms during the nighttime hours. It will remain hot and humid with a high around 90.
