Patch Forecast: a Nice Thanksgiving Week

Will the weather affect your travel plans for Thanksgiving? Find out in the PatchCast for November 19-25!

High pressure will influence our weather for the majority of this week. This means that our chances for precipitation will be minimal until the weekend. Wednesday looks great for traveling and Thanksgiving Day will also be very nice. For shoppers on Black Friday, a jacket won't even be necessary by the afternoon with temperatures in the low 60s!

High pressure will be centered over New England today, November 19th, but with a low pressure system to our south, there will be some clouds mixed in with the sunshine. The high temperature will top out between 50 and 55.

The high pressure system will shift slightly northward into Maine on Tuesday, November 20th, so there may be a few more clouds around than today, but it will still be a decent day. The high temperature again will reach 50 to 55.

Another area of high pressure will develop over Upstate New York on Wednesday, November 21st, so if you have to travel anywhere across the northeast, look for mostly sunny skies. The high temperature here in the Delaware Valley will be in the mid 50s.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather on Thanksgiving Day, so look for more sunshine and a high temperature in the upper 50s.

Black Friday will be another mostly sunny day, and out ahead of a cold front that should move through Friday night, our high temperature should reach the low 60s! A rain shower is possible overnight with that cold front.

Cooler air will move in behind the front, so Saturday, November 24th, will only reach the low 50s for a high. It will be a breezy day with a rain shower possible. The day will not be a washout, but you will certainly notice the difference in temperature.

It looks like even colder air will arive by Sunday, November 25th. We will likely only manage the mid 40s for a high temperature. There is a slight chance of a shower, which could be rain or snow depending on the temperature, but don't expect any accumulation if it does snow because it would just be a brief shower.

Have a great Thanksgiving and be sure to check in with Phillyweather.net for updated forecasts!
