Camden County College Educates on Autism

The first in a semester-long series of public talks will be held 6:30 pm on Monday, February 27, at the Blackwood campus of Camden County College.

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication, and behavioral challenges from birth. The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that, on average, one in 110 American children has an ASD.

The Camden County College Center for Civic Leadership and Responsibility is committed to providing support for families and educators of children with ASDs. Each semester, the Center hosts a variety of public talks on autism at its three campus locations. These are free to attend, and certified New Jersey educators may earn professional development credit for doing so.

Detailed information about each event is available on the Civic Center website. Those with questions should call 856-227-7200 x4333.
