Welcome Collingswood Public Library's Newest Addition—E-Books

To keep up with technology, library officials have added digital e-books to their collection.

Collingswood Public Library's newest service, called OverDrive, will complement its already abundant collection of traditional books—using the latest reading technology.

"We're launching OverDrive, which will give library members access to digital downloads of e-books and audio books," said Collingswood Public Library Director Brett Bonfield of the new service.

OverDrive is available to all library card-holders. Members can access the service by downloading it from the library's website.

Users seeking e-books should use Adobe Digital Editions, which works with Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony Reader, Apple Mobile devices and numerous other mobile devices.

As an added bonus, some titles can be burned onto CDs for convenient access to reading on the go.

Downloads will carry "due dates," just like regular book check-outs. Upon downloading an audio or e-book, users will be given an expiration date. Titles will automatically expire at the end of this lending period.

And the absolute best part about downloading books on OverDrive? No more frantic drives to the library to drop off overdue books—and no more late fees!
