This week in Collingswood is chock-full of free events that will pack new ideas into your head while relieving it of some hair. Here’s what's happening March 4-10.

1. First Thursday Jazz Concert

Thursday, March 7, 7:30 p.m., Collingswood Community Center

“Every First Thursday for the past nine years, Jazz Bridge has presented the best of Philadelphia area jazz and blues for a family friendly cost.” This Thursday, groove to tenor saxophonist Bob Pollitt. Tickets: $10 general/$5 for students. Free sodas. BYOB

2. Fridays Live—Jenny & Me

Friday, March 8, 8:30 p.m., Grooveground, 647 Haddon Ave., Collingswood

“Once upon a time, there was a Girl. She was a waitress at a trendy Mexican restaurant in a slightly less suburban suburbia. At this restaurant, there was a Boy. He made the guacamole. One day this Girl played this Boy a song she had written. Their relationship would never be the same.” Intrigued yet? Jenny & Me is a local indie-pop duo from Collingswood. Join them for dreamy chimes and good times at Grooveground Friday.

3. St. Baldrick's Fundraiser

Sunday, March 10, 11 a.m.—4 p.m., Scottish Rite Auditorium

“Collingswood and the Collingswood Fire Department will again host one of its best party-fundraisers of the year with the goal of raising $100,000 for pediatric cancer research... St. Baldrick’s is best known for its signature head-shaving events where volunteers shave their heads to stand in solidarity with the kids who typically lose their hair during cancer treatments."

$10 for guests ages 12 or older. Free buffet, unlimited soft drinks, $1 beer cash bar.

4. Collingswood Commissioners Meeting

Monday, March 4, 7 p.m., Collingswood Community Center

Care about what happens in Collingswood? Then keep up with what your town government is doing. Commissioners meetings are open the public, and you’ll have a chance to talk to your representatives about town issues.

5. Second Saturday

Saturday, March 9, 5 p.m., Haddon Ave.

Come to the Ave. (Haddon, that is) and get into the Irish spirit with students from DiNogla Irish Dance School, as they perform at 5 p.m. in front of All Fired Up, 602 Haddon Ave., and at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Zane School, 756 Haddon Ave.
