Pat Benatar Rocks the Rite Tonight

The '80s pop sensation is on tour with her husband and co-writer Neil Giraldo.

Before she kicks off a big summer tour with fellow 1980s monoliths Journey and Loverboy in July, rocker Pat Benatar will ease through Collingswood en route to a longer New England weekend.

The 59-year-old Brooklyn native at the with husband-collaborator Neil Giraldo, her guitarist and co-writer of hits like “Love Is a Battlefield,” “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” “Heartbreaker,” “Promises in the Dark” and “We Belong.”

For 33 years, the couple’s fruitful collaboration has yielded platinum albums, Grammy and American Music Awards, and two daughters. Their latest album of original music, Go, was produced in August 2003; another release is planned for next summer.

On their website, the singer and guitarist promise selections from their new repertoire will accompany fan favorites from several years ago.
