Collingswood, Meet the Awesome Box
The project is a collaboration with the Harvard Library Innovation Lab, and offers a chance for neighbors to spread the word on what's worth checking out.
Collingswood, it's time to unleash your inner Rob Gordon.
Sadly, there's no storefront in which you can pore over scads of old vinyl and rank your lost loves according to the albums that reflect their emotional significance to you.
But for the (library) card-carrying culture cognoscenti of the borough, there's a next best thing: the Awesome Box.
"It's a visual representation of what people like," explains Carissa Schanely, head of Access and Technical Services at the Collingswood Public Library.
The Awesome Box, which was developed at the Harvard University Library Innovation Lab, encourages library patrons to big-up their favorite loans to other members of the community.
The recommendations go live on the Awesome Box website, and are ranked both cumulatively and time-sensitively. You can sort by media type (video, audio, print) for the top recommendations in each category.
No word if "I Just Called to Say I Love You" is in there yet.
Collingswood, tell us: what's in your awesome box?
