Grab & Go Kids Planner: Hopping Into Spring

Check out where the party will be hopping this weekend!

Spring has officially sprung this week, and there are plenty of events to celebrate it. Here are Patch's Picks for this weekend:

Event: The Adventures of Peter Rabbit

Where: Ritz Theatre

When: Friday, Mar. 24 at 10 a.m. and Saturday, Mar. 25 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Why Go: Respecting other people's property and staying safe are the lessons learned at this Kids Theatre show. Follow the fluffy Peter Rabbit as he gets into some trouble throughout his adventures.

Cost: All tickets are $10 

 

Event: Story Time

Where:

When: Thursday, March 22 at 1 p.m. and Saturday, March 24 at 10 a.m.

Why Go: Join Nick Jr.'s pals, the Backyardigans, on their hunt to find the egg. Then, you get to paint two of your own Easter eggs to take home after enjoying the story. 

Cost: $11.50 plus tax and there is no sitting fee for this class

 

Event: Alice Live Interactive Theater

Where: , Collingswood

When: Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 24 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m.

Why Go: This is a must-see production for your children in first through fifth grades. They will cover the issues of friendship, bullying, respect and responsibility in an interactive play setting. These issues tie in with the New Jersey Core Curriculum standards, and are being taught to the children at school. This is an amazing opportunity to reinforce skills taught at home on the weekend with family. 

Cost: Children are $8, seniors and students are $10 and adults are $12

 

Event: Songfest 2012

Where: Haddonfield Middle School, Haddonfield

When: Saturday, March 24 check-in begins at 7:45 a.m.

Why Go: This is an all-day singing celebration, Broadway style, for children grades 3 through 6. They will learn about basic music reading and singing throughout several different shows including: My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, 42nd Street, Castle on a Cloud, and Give My Regards to Broadway.

Cost: $25 admission includes a souvenir T-shirt for the student, music, snacks, instruction, and participation in the Songfest concert. (Teacher admission is free with their students or $10 without students and includes complimentary materials, music packet, and lunch.)

Event: Spring Flower Bouquet

Where: Lakeshore Learning Center, Marketplace at Garden State Park, 2020 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill

When: Saturday, March 24 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Why Go: Crafters of all ages are invited to come down to the store and create a spring flower bouquet craft. Keep the kids busy while they develop gross and fine motor skills, all while engaging in social interaction with other children.
