Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s during the day and the 20s at night., and the National Weather Service is projecting wind gusts of up to 20 miles an hour. Leftover moisture may freeze to untreated surfaces.

“In anticipation of this latest weather system, we prepared our equipment and loaded our trucks on Friday.  Brining has already begun and all County roads will be pretreated in advance of the storm,” Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said.  “Our crews will report to work early tomorrow, well in advance of the first snowflakes.  This will be an all hands on deck operation and vacation days have been canceled.”

More than 70 pieces of equipment are available to make county roadways safe for travel and personnel will be dispatched to 12 winter maintenance districts for salt and to plow about 400 miles of county roads should conditions become treacherous.

“As always, when the weather turns hazardous we recommend that motorists remain cautious and give themselves extra time to reach their destinations,” Leonard said.  “Anyone on the roadways during these times should be prepared to encounter slick or icy road conditions.”
