Stage Kidz, in its 14th season, has taught the magic of theatre to an estimated 1,000 children, many of whom go on to the Philadelphia stages and appear in commercials. The camp’s philosophy is more than just learning about theater; Stage Kidz doesn’t build stars, but confident children. Also, the cast members have been recounting their experiences both on the stage and behind the scenes in a weekly blog. Check it out here: http://stagekidzhaddonfield.wordpress.com

“We work with all levels of young performers at Stage Kidz,” says Ellen Kirk, camp administrator. “Our actors learn not only songs, dances and script, but a self-assuredness that comes from performing on the live stage. The personal growth that we see in our students is quite amazing. Many parents have commented that the skills learned with us at Stage Kidz have given their children the confidence to audition at other venues, improved social skills, and have improved confidence in the classroom setting.”

Kirk, who has been working with the program for 4 years, is one of many certified teachers, all performers themselves. Stage Kidz provides a valuable and affordable education in theater, self-confidence, and working in a group, all skills important for children to succeed in their futures.

Haddonfield Plays and Players is at 957 East Atlantic Ave., Haddonfield, NJ, 08033. Tickets for “Annie Jr.” are $10 and can be purchased online at the Haddonfield Plays and Players website: http://www.haddonfieldplayers.com/tickets.php
