Phyllis Duda of Hainesport Joins Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice as New Advance Practice Nurse

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Healthcare Team Adds to Depth of Expertise

Phyllis Duda, R.N., M.S.N., APN, C, AOCN of Hainesport, NJ joins Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice in Marlton as an Advance Practice Nurse (APN).

As an APN, Duda will utilize her years of advanced nursing experience to provide consultations in palliative care, pain and symptom management and follow-up medical care to those in Samaritan’s Palliative Medical Partners program.

“We are extremely honored to welcome Phyllis to our team,” stated Dr. Stephen Goldfine, Chief Medical Officer of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice. “Samaritan remains the largest hospice serving five counties in southern New Jersey. Phyllis is our second on-staff APN – she joins an extraordinary team of four full-time, board certified hospice and palliative physicians, talented nurse practitioners and a palliative hospice fellow. We are the only hospice in South Jersey with this depth of care.”

Duda has many years of experience working in healthcare. She spent the first 13 years of her career working as a registered nurse (RN) at several different hospices and hospitals throughout the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. These places include Mercy Hospital, Hospice of Pennsylvania, Inc., the Memorial Hospital of Burlington County and the Hematology Oncology Associates, SJ, P.A. Duda then transitioned into a position as a Research Associate/Protocol Coordinator at American College of Radiology in Philadelphia. For the last 11 years, she practiced as an APN at Regional Cancer Care Associates in Mount Holly, NJ.

She received her master’s degree in nursing from Rutgers University – Camden in 2002, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 1998, and her diploma in Nursing from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Scranton in 1986. She currently holds licenses as a registered nurse in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and is a licensed APN in the state of New Jersey. Duda is also currently certified as an APN,C , a certification by the ANCC, in primary care of the adult, as well as being certified as an Advance Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN) by the Oncology Nursing Society.

She is a current member of the Oncology Nursing Society (national chapter), Oncology Nursing Society (South Jersey chapter) and Sigma Theta Tau International (Delta Rho chapter). Duda currently resides in Hainesport, NJ with her husband Jeffrey and daughter Noelle.
