People for People in Running for Grant to Develop Community Gardens

Community Gardens will Grow Produce in Low and Moderate Income Housing

 April 4, 2014

Mullica Hill, NJ – The People for People Foundation has entered the Seeds of Change Grant Program for an opportunity to receive one of two $20,000 or one of 15 $10,000 grants. If awarded the grant, the People for People Foundation, in partnership with Conifer Realty LLC, will create four vegetable gardens at four low to moderate income apartment complexes in Gloucester County. These complexes total more than 300 units representing over 1,000 residents, including many children. The produce grown will be distributed to families in the complex that help create and maintain the gardens. A chef will also be provided by People for People who will hold classes at each site to demonstrate the variety of ways in which fresh produce can be used to create a variety of healthful and appealing meals.
