A Little Rain Couldn’t Dampen National Collector Car Appreciation Day

American Collectors Insurance (www.AmericanCollectors.com) held its fourth annual National Collector Car Appreciation Day (NCCAD) event on July 12, 2013 at its headquarters in Cherry Hill, NJ.  The fun-filled evening, co-sponsored by Rides.com, was attended by nearly 100 enthusiasts despite less-than-desirable weather conditions.

Muscle cars, antique cars, and classic trucks to hot rods braved the weather to support NCCAD 2013.  The National Guard arrived in two impressive armored vehicles, and members of the NJ Chapter of the National Corvette Caravan showcased 3 stunning ‘Vettes for the duration of the event despite a few downpours.

Unsurprisingly, the star of NCCAD 2013 was the ultra-rare 1967 Phantom Bizzarrini P538 #002, one of only 7 ever made. This particular Bizzarrini’s unique status is elevated by the fact that it is one of only two made with a Lamborghini V-12 engine.  The car’s owner, Van Horneff, graciously removed it from long-term display at the world-renowned Simeone Foundation Car Museum in Philadelphia for one day only specifically to support this event.
