Crowd Went Wild Last Night!

Trumpeter Fred Adams and his Heritage Art Ensemble played to an almost capacity crowd at the the Collingswood Community Center last night. Bill, our amiable bartender, poured lots of free sodas and popped a lot of wine corks as the night went on.

The band played some hard bop compositions by saxophonist Hank Mobley and some originals by Adams, which got listeners in the soul-jazz mood of the 1960s when Philly was a hot bed of jazz innovators.

See you next month when saxophonist Bob Pollitt and his band offer their brand of jazz on the First Thursday (Jazz in the Wood) of March!
