Wegmans Shopper Passed Fake Bills, Police Say

Cherry Hill Police say this man passed counterfeit money at Wegmans earlier this month.

Cherry Hill Police are asking for help identifying the man in these photographs, who allegedly paid for a grocery purchase with counterfeit money.

The man appears in Wegmans store security feeds wearing a white jacket and red hat. He allegedly passed the phony bills on Nov. 6.

I realize you shouldn't steal. But come on the guy is holding a 1/2 doz eggs and a piece of cake. Unless there is more to this story, I may change my mind. I know, I know, it's Wegman's, so it probably cost $20 for those 2 items.

Using counterfeit money is a crime. The denomination of the bill, or what one purchases with the counterfeit bill, doesn't matter. It's a crime.

Shirl, I realize it's a crime. I just saw a bit of humor in the story. If you don't so be it.
