Sept. 25 is National Voter Registration Day

Fill out your voter registration application before it's too late.

Today is National Voter Registration Day, and thousands of local, state and national organizations have mobilized to make sure millions of people don’t miss the chance to cast their vote in this year’s elections.

Six million people didn’t vote in the 2008 elections because they either did not know how to register or because they missed the voter registration deadline.

The deadline to register to vote in New Jersey is Oct. 16. Applications must be filled out for new voters and those who may have moved or changed their names.

Register by mail

Print and fill out a Voter Application Form, and mail it to:

Superintendent of Elections
PO Box 268
Pennsauken, NJ 08110-9904

The state makes it easy—the application form can be mailed for free by following the folding and taping instructions.

Register in person

You can drop off your pre-completed form in person to the superintendent of elections from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays:

Phyllis Pearl
7250 Westfield Ave.
Suite C
Pennsauken, NJ 08110-9904

Pick up forms in person from the superintendent of elections at the address above; at the Camden County Board of Elections (Forrest Hall, 509 Lakeland Rd., Blackwood) weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; or at Collingswood Borough Hall.

College students

College students are permitted to vote from their college address or their parents’ homes. They must file a new application if they’re not already registered where they choose to vote.
