Tonight's Board of Education Agenda

In its last monthly meeting before Election Day, the public school district will review its annual Violence, Vandalism and Substance Abuse report, among other things.

The Collingswood Board of Education will host its final regular meeting before Election Day tonight, so if you're interested in seeing some of the incumbents in action, this could be your last opportunity to do so.**

The body posted the agenda for this evening on its website today (click here to view), which includes the following topics:

  • Bond Refunding: Ronald Ianoale of McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC and Sherry Tracy of Phoenix Advisors, LLC will discuss the proposed refunding of the BOE 2005 School Bonds.
  • Superintendent's Report: Scott Oswald will present the 2012-13 Violence, Vandalism and Substance Abuse Report (have a look at last year's here).
  • Sports-Related Head Injuries: The Board will review a draft of its policy for the handling of concussions and other sports-related head injuries (draft attached to this article).
  • Counseling/Developmental Guidance Policies: The Board will review a draft of its policy for student counseling and developmental guidance (draft attached to this article).

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Zane North School all-purpose room.

**("Hey, why are school board elections being held in November?" Well, Virginia, it has to do with the 2-percent cap...)
