Collingswood High School honored three of its athletic standouts Friday, naming Krista LaMaina, Melissa Cunningham and Samir Inge as Athletes of the Month. Here's a look at some of their accomplishments.
Krista LaMaina – LaMaina established a new single-season scoring record for the Panthers, with her 44 goals tops in the 100-year history of the program. She will enter her senior season just three goals away from tying the Collingswood career-scoring record of 75 goals.
LaMaina’s achievements also earned her a First-Team Colonial Conference Liberty Division selection. She was a major reason the Panthers reached the Group 2 South Jersey final.
Melissa Cunningham – A senior captain of the field hockey team, Cunningham was a vital part of the Panthers’ attack and defense.
Cunningham was typically the targeted player on corners, which helped her finish the season with 19 goals, second-best on the team, and 20 assists (many going to LaMaina).
Cunningham, who has verbally committed to attend Rider University on a field hockey scholarship, was also selected as a First-Team Colonial Conference Liberty Division player.
Samir Inge - Inge finished his senior football season strong, recording two interceptions and a forced fumble in his last two games, and all-conference honors as a defensive back.
