Oaklyn Man Arrested for Sexual Contact with a Child
William Cannon, 37, of Oaklyn, is being held on $200,000 full-cash bail.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed last week that William Cannon, 37, of Oaklyn, was arrested Dec. 6 for accosting a child.
Cannon was charged with one count of aggravated sexual contact and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. The victim was a juvenile under the age of 13.
Cannon is being held in the Camden County correctional facility on $200,000 full-cash bail.
“This is still an ongoing investigation, but at this time we don’t have any information that suggests that he had ready access to other children,” said Jason Laughlin, spokesperson for the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Collingswood Patch received an anonymous tip about the incident. Cannon's name does not appear in the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry and no further details were immediately available from authorities.
