Moms Talk: Social Media Privacy

We want to hear from you. Participate in this installment of Mom's Talk Q&A.

With the world tangled up in a social media craze, and an increase in Facebook and Twitter users of all ages, Internet privacy issues are more important today than ever.

Recently, this article was featured on Babble, titled Five Social Media Rules for New Parents, and it inspired this week's Moms Talk.

Babble, a site which encourages parents to follow rules of etiquette concerning Internet usage, including standards for using photos of their children, personal labor or birthing experiences, and other areas of question.

All the rules mentioned within the article were helpful. Yet, I couldn't help but continue to think about online privacy issues.

This week, we want to know what readers have to say about the following:

  • Do you, as a parent, post public pictures of your children on the Internet (on sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, or Flickr)?

  • Do you post your children's names and ages, or the location of the photos, on your page for all to see?

  • Do you know how to adjust the privacy settings on your social media page, to keep your personal information private to friends and followers only?

We want to hear from you! Leave your feedback in the comments box below, and share tips or tricks you use to manage your social media account.
