Girlfriendz Treasure Hunt - Exclusive Photos Added!
A local women's magazine and Collingswood are sponsoring a shopping-filled treasure hunt through town.
Putt your thinking caps and shopping shoes on and grab your friends—it’s time for the Girlfriendz-Collingswood Treasure Hunt.
Girlfriendz magazine and the borough are teaming up for the April 26 treasure hunt around town. This shopping-themed hunt takes participants around the Haddon Avenue business district for an evening of fun, networking and nibbles.
“Above all, we want people to come out to just have fun,” says Girlfriendz founder and editor-in-chief Tobi Schwartz-Cassell. “We also want to honor our advertisers in Collingswood, who are amazing and great to work with.”
The hunt will take participants to Aenigma Jewelry, Marlene’s Dress Shop, Michael Bruce Florist, Two Cherubs Antiques, McGarry’s Jewelers and Jubili Beads & Yarns.
It all starts between 5 and 6 p.m. Thursday at the Collingswood Community Center. There, participants can pick up their map and off they go.
“Each stop will have munchies and promotions, plus you get your map stamped,” Schwartz-Cassell explains.
It wraps up back at the community center, where Collingswood businesses, including Casona, The Candy Jar and Cheese, Etc. will offer up more goodies and raffle off prizes.
If you want to grab dinner before the fun begins, Casona is hosting a special three-course prix fixe menu $25.
Seventy people are already signed up and Schwartz-Cassell says the more, the merrier.
“We’ve done events like this before, but never one to this extent with so many venues,” she says. It’s the first time the magazine and Collingswood are partnering up for a treasure hunt as well. “It’s always a lot of fun, and a good place to network and meet people. I can honestly say, I know of several people who met and started great friendships at one of our treasure hunts.”
