Every year, Collingswood golfers get together to support local charities at the Collingswood Golf Invitational.

This year's event will be held Sept. 17 at the Merchantville Country Club, with all the trappings of a formal tournament.

"For the first time, the event will be a stroke format golf tournament with a shotgun start at noon, followed by a cocktail hour and dinner at the Club," reads a press release from the borough.

"The event is stroke play with handicaps. The winner will keep ownership of the Collingswood Cup for the next year, have their name engraved on the Cup, and will ride in the 2012 Collingswood Holiday Parade!"
