Unusual Thefts Reported in Collingswood

One Collingswood resident was caught redecorating her neighbor's garden, while another reported the loss of something you'd never expect to go missing.

Collingswood Police were dispatched Feb. 9 at about noon to the third floor of the "D" tower of the Heights of Collingswood to investigate the report of a theft.

A resident reported having heard noises outside her door earlier in the day, police say. She discovered that her peephole had been stolen.

Police have no suspects at this time.

Just three days earlier, they had much better luck.

At 11 a.m. Feb. 6, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Grant Avenue to investigate a report of missing property.

They discovered Kim DiMattea, 43, of Collingswood, had allegedly removed a couple of flower pots from the Grant Avenue home in question. DiMattea was arrested, charged with theft and was released on her own recognizance.
