Cat Fighting Goes to the Dogs

Ladies are invited to a women's self-defense course, hosted by Collingswood Junior Womens' Club.

We've all likely heard that taunting phrase, "You fight like a girl."

But thanks to Collingswood Junior Women's Club, borough ladies are kicking cat fights into the doghouse.

Collingswood Junior Women's Club has organized a women's-only self-defense course, in part as a public service to borough females, this Friday, Nov. 18.

The 2-hour class will run from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at Kenkojuku Karate of South Jersey, located at 614 Haddon Ave.

Kenkojuku Chief Instructor, Sensei Andrew Faupel, will lead the event, which is open to ladies ages 21 and older.

Collingswood Junior Women's Club members will be on hand, learning self-defense techniques with those in attendance.

Wine and appetizers will be provided for all.

This event is free and open to the public, but holds a limited class size. Interested participants must pre-register.

To reserve your place, email Donna Shourds at donna1193@comcast.net.

Bring your game face, and wear your tough skin. It's time to give a whole new meaning to the phrase, "You fight like a girl."
